After Rohit Sharma & Virat Kohli , now Ravindra Jadeja also announced his retirement

Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has decided to retire from T20 International cricket, following in the footsteps of his teammates Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. This announcement came a day after India secured the T20 World Cup title by defeating South Africa in a closely contested final.

Jadeja, affectionately known as “Jaddu” and “Sir Jadeja,” made his mark in the fast-paced world of T20 cricket after debuting for India in 2009, just before the T20 World Cup that year. His contribution to the team has been significant over the years..

On Instagram, the 35-year-old expressed his gratitude and bid farewell to T20 Internationals, stating, “With a heart full of gratitude, I bid farewell to T20 internationals.” He emphasized his commitment to continue playing ODIs and Tests, promising to give his best for the country in these formats.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma yesterday announced their retirements from T20Is after the World Cup victory, indicating a transition phase for the Indian team to nurture younger talent. Kohli and Sharma, both stalwarts in Indian cricket, felt it was the right time to pass on the baton to the next generation of players.

Jadeja’s retirement marks the end of an era in his T20 international career, during which he contributed significantly to India’s success in the shortest format of the game. His journey from Jamnagar, Gujarat, where he was born on December 6, 1988, to becoming a key player for the national team, reflects his dedication and skill.
