Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano found guilty of schism and excommunicated

Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, a strong critic of Pope Francis, has been found guilty of schism by the Vatican. This means he refused to recognize and obey the pope, especially criticizing him for not addressing sexual misconduct allegations involving a U.S. cardinal.
