BJ THOMPSON – “Chiefs Defensive Lineman BJ Thompson Stable After Medical Emergency; Practice Postponed”

Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman BJ Thompson remains in stable condition at a local hospital after suffering a medical emergency during a team meeting on Thursday. His agent, Chris Turnage, provided an update, stating that Thompson is currently unconscious but his vital signs are stable.

Thompson, a 27-year-old who joined the Chiefs as a fifth-round pick in 2023, experienced a seizure that led to cardiac arrest while attending a special teams meeting. Quick action from the Chiefs’ medical staff ensured he received prompt treatment.

The incident resulted in the postponement of Thursday’s practice, with all activities rescheduled for Friday. This interruption comes as the Chiefs conclude their offseason training activities, with a mandatory minicamp scheduled for June 11-13 before the team breaks until late July when training camp commences.

Despite the unsettling circumstances, Thompson’s family has requested continued prayers for his recovery.
