Basketball legend Jerry West passed away on Wednesday morning, as announced by the Los Angeles Clippers. He was 86 years old.

Known as “Mr. Clutch” for his ability to perform under pressure during games, West had a remarkable career both as a player and an executive. He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame twice: once as a player in 1980, and again in 2010 as a member of the 1960 U.S. Olympic Team. Additionally, he will be honored for a third time later this year for his contributions to the sport.

The Clippers described West as the embodiment of basketball greatness and a beloved figure to all who knew him. He passed away with his wife, Karen, by his side.
