Mexico vs uruguay – “Denver Fans Voice Discontent as Mexico Falls to Uruguay: Anti-Discrimination Protocol Activated”

The match between Mexico vs Uruguay was halted for a few minutes at the 52nd minute mark, as the anti-discrimination protocol was activated. By this point, the South American team was already leading 4-0 against the Tricolor.

In contrast to other matches, the outcry was directed towards the Mexican goalkeeper, Raúl Rangel. The Chivas player cleared the ball, and fans in the stands of Empower Field at Mile High resorted to an expression that has been targeted for expulsion from football stadiums.

This prompted the game to pause for a few minutes, with the audience being urged to refrain from such expressions. According to the protocol, in the event of a homophobic outcry, a warning is first issued to the audience via the stadium’s sound system. If the behavior persists, the game is temporarily suspended.

MEXICO VS URUGUAY

The incident occurred following Jaime Lozano’s team being exposed by Uruguay. Within 50 minutes, Marcelo Bielsa’s squad managed to score four goals against the Mexican team.

One of the most criticized players was Raúl Rangel, who made his debut as goalkeeper for the National Team. Besides the goalkeeper, the fans also began to boo all of Jaime Lozano’s players, as they were easily outplayed by the Uruguayan side.

Mexico opted to field substitute players for the match against Uruguay, despite the overwhelming response from fans to the game against Marcelo Bielsa’s team. More than 50,000 tickets were sold for a stadium that can accommodate over 70,000.

Furthermore, the referee concluded the match in Denver minutes earlier, as Mexican fans invaded the pitch.

There were also criticisms against the Mexican National Team on social media. Guillermo Ochoa’s name began trending, and questions were raised about the absence of players like Henry Martín and Hirving Lozano.
