West Indies vs England -England Defeat West Indies in ICC T20 World Cup

The defending champions of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup have made a strong comeback by chasing down a target to defeat the West Indies in Saint Lucia.

This win is significant as it gives the co-hosts their first loss of the tournament. Now, they are placed in the lower half of Group 2. Additionally, they face a concern as their opener Brandon King got injured with a side strain during his batting.

England achieved an impressive victory guided by a stunning performance from Salt. The match highlights showcased King and Johnson Charles making a strong start for the West Indies, scoring quickly during the Powerplay.

Everything looked good for the hosts when they reached 40 runs without losing any wickets by the fifth over. However, their momentum suffered a setback when King had to leave the field due to a groin injury while attempting a shot off Sam Curran’s delivery.

Despite this, Nicholas Pooran joined Charles and they managed to push the score to 54 runs by the sixth over, which was a solid start. Pooran hit a big six off Mark Wood’s ball in the eighth over, but England tightened their bowling thereafter. The West Indies could not find any more boundaries after that until the mid-innings break.

By the end of the tenth over, the West Indies had scored 82 runs without losing any wickets.
